It may be that the head has cooled too much and is making you struggle. Note: if positioning the eyes or getting the eyes in becomes difficult, simply re-heat the head. Once the eye is positioned in the socket the way you like, you are finished. I start at the corners of the eye and gently press down on either side to reposition the eye. My favorite is a ball tipped crochet tool. Once the eyes are in, you can use anything with a blunt bottom to reposition the eyes (nothing sharp as you can scratch the eyes). Don't worry so much about placement yet, getting the eye in before the head cools is tricky so it's more important to get it in the socket quickly or you will have to re-heat the head.ġ0. Take the new eye and firmly press it against the eye socket in the front. Best to do this in an area where you can catch the eye as it uses some force and the eye comes racing out - an empty counter top or and empty sink with a plugged drainĩ. Stick your gloved hand into the head and firmly press at the back of the eye sockets. Using latex gloves, gently pour the boiling water outĨ. Wait - you want the head to heat up so that it is completely squishy, if it is not soft enough you will have to repeat the process to reheat the headħ. Use the towel to keep the head from moving inside the bowl and keep it steady.Ħ. Place the head upside down on top of a towel in a small bowl (smaller the bowl, less likely the head will move when pouring water)Ĥ. Plug any holes such as imperfections in the vinyl or pierced ears with painter's tapeģ. Smaller eye orders will come in individual sized boxes.Ģ. Large eye orders will come in foam inserts. Upgrades your factory doll eyes with more color options and more realism than the standard eyes that come with the doll. Starting with your eye replacement is the first step, then following with doing your face-up and wig replacements afterwards has the best result. Boiling water can ruin a face-up and may be difficult to repair. #Aquamarine eyes fullWhen customizing a full doll, since the process of replacing eyes uses boiling water to the head, we recommend that you don't paint your doll's face until after you change the eyes. #Aquamarine eyes skinAlthough you can try matching the exact paint of your doll's skin tone, we find it much easier to go with a neutral tone like gold to pair with darker skin tones or you can choose any color to look like eyeshadow. The eye pieces come apart so that you can paint the eyelid any color. Note that all eyes come with standard nude lids. Our premium doll eyes are available at an affordable rate to promote doll artistry and childhood dreams. Birds & Bytes is here to stay, so keep your eyes on the website and future newsletters for its return. Indeed, embracing virtual programs has revealed new avenues for us to share the love of birds in ways we never would have considered or been able to do before. While this does mean that Birds & Bytes will not longer maintain a regular schedule, this does not mean our hit virtual program is going away. Now with vaccines available to all adults, the possibility of in person programs returning, and our 15th episode of Birds & Bytes in the books, we’ve decided to take a break, take a look back, and plan what’s next. But perhaps most importantly, all of these programs, featuring some of the most knowledgeable and dynamic speakers in birding today, have been completely free and open to all. Now over a year later, COS is one of the few conservation organizations in the region that has continued to run virtual programs regularly and non-stop through the course of the pandemic. By Submitting Your Donation You Acknowledge That: Contributions or gifts to the Republican Party of Highlands County are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Many organizations rapidly dropped off the virtual program bandwagon but we, fueled by the overwhelmingly positive feedback from viewers, doubled down. At some point however, it became evident that the pandemic would not be passing quickly and seeing each other on Zoom was no longer a novelty but increasingly a way of life. The first few weeks of programs were admittedly a bit of a mad dash to produce content and compete in the suddenly oversaturated webinar medium. After rapidly assembling a new program planning team, some crash courses in webinar tech, and some creative thinking, Birds & Bytes was born! So like many organizations suddenly faced with reduced or nonexistent in-person programs in March of 2020, we turned to virtual platforms to reach our audience. The bread and butter of COS for many years has been in-person programs. Kujo-san was reticent he remembers all of them, they were his friends, but if they had not come forward to reveal their own identities, he did not feel comfortable outing them. We pressed for details on his colleagues – for example, who were Susumu, Hamachan, and (most importantly) Meeher? The last of these played a key role in Undercover Cops, Geo Storm, and the Metal Slug series. Kire means anger, or it can mean snapping. So that's why in my 20s I had nicknames like Oni, or Kire, or Tsumi, because I was angry. I was frustrated about my shortcomings as a game developer and also about things that didn't go as I wanted them to. I think I was always quite angry when I was in my 20s. But I'm also credited for some other games as planner. Certainly for Kaitei Daisensou, because I was the director. "At that time, the vast majority of Japanese companies did not allow you to put your real name in the credits Japanese game companies were closed off and insular and prohibited the disclosure of staff's real names. "For several games, I am credited under my nickname," Kujo-san tells us. We had to ask, why did everyone only use nicknames at Irem? Why did he keep changing his nickname, suffixing "Nag" to them? After R-Type II, Kujo-san was involved in Shisenshou: Match-Mania (GB, 1990), Air Duel (ARC, 1990, credited as "Tsumi-Nag"), and Superior Soldiers (ARC, 1993, "Oni-Nag"), before helming In The Hunt (ARC, 1993, credited as "Tobi-Nag"). This is ironic, given that Kujo-san would go on to create In The Hunt, a magnificent shmup which subverts most of the genre's tropes. " Kazuma Kujo - Image: John Szczepaniak & Nico Datiche I actually played it for 30 minutes, and they told me that I was too bad at it, so I was actually taken off that role. "He came to the department for planners and asked, 'Who is the worst at shooting games?' They said it was me, so that's how I got involved in testing for R-Type II. "The head of the business division was looking for someone who was really bad at shooting games," he explains. Kazuma Kujo's career at Irem started in 1989, on R-Type II, as a tester. His signature pose is to wear shades in every photo – because when you're cool, the sun shines on you 24 hours a day. He joined us for late-night coffee and a chat at a swanky Tokyo hotel, where we took photos and spent three hours grilling him on his impressive portfolio. He was involved with the R-Type series, created In The Hunt and the original Metal Slug, and later on worked on the likes of Steambot Chronicles and the Disaster Report series, and more recently was the director on R-Type Final 2. In The Hunt, however, we know quite a bit about, thanks to its director Kazuma Kujo. It's a sad reflection of Japanese company politics, especially given the important legacy Irem has as the developer of the genre-defining R-Type. Staff at Irem were never properly credited on anything, so unless developers admit to working on a game – or out their colleagues – we'll never know. Geo Storm is, sadly, both obscure as an arcade game and mysterious regarding its creation and legacy. Product hunt clone series#While the Metal Slug series of run-and-gun platformers has gained cult status since its origin in 1996, players might be unaware of its two direct predecessors by Irem: Geo Storm / GunHazard II from 1994, and the even earlier In The Hunt (known as Kaitei Daisensou in Japan) from 1993.
